I have to start todays post with a massive thank you to everyone who has supported my journey over the past twelve months. I never thought my love of baking could result in so much pleasure for others.I feel like I have gained a great little community of cake lovers. Since launching the business 8 months ago I have received such wonderful feedback (see a selection below) and it is this feedback that helps me to continue to develop to meet your needs.
This morning I thought I would let you in on some of my plans for the next few months and seek out your opinions on some of the changes. Please don’t panic I promise the changes wont affect your usual cake orders.
What’s coming up:
17th July: I am going to launch my online Etsy shop selling fondant cake models. The models will fall into the following categories.
My aim is to create 2 ranges:
20th June – Fathers Day:
As a lead up to the opening of the shop I am going to put a focus on creating models for fathers Day, these will include a range of dad’s and grandads in a range of settings. I would love to hear your ideas for models that would represent your fathers.
25/26th September: Food Festival;
This one is a little daunting, I have decided to take a stall at the Arley Hall Food Festival in Cheshire. I will be selling a wide range of models including a comprehensive Christmas Range. This is going to mean a great deal of work but I am hoping I can combine it with an opportunity to celebrate with all of you. I will share the details with you as they become clearer.
Whilst I hope people will continue to ask me to create their personalised cakes I am pleased to be able to offer the models and decorations to those who also love a Costco’s cake.
I would love to hear your thoughts on my new plans. If you have a moment I would appreciate it if you could answer the following three questions for me.
I thank you for all your continued support, I look forward creating many more cakes and models for you.
On a slightly different note I wanted to give you a quick heads up for anyone who has been thinking that they would like to turn their baking skills into a business, my Cake Business Coach Rebecca Ledger has written a wonderful blog post which I will be sharing with you tommorow.
